In addition to school-related projects, client work, and tasks for small businesses I also enjoy developing exploratory projects. These projects are important because they allow me to investigate technologies and try out new skills without the priority of delivering a refined end product.
One such project is a web application where I experimented with a deployment platform, frameworks, and libraries that were new to me. This project was based on Google’s Political Advertising Transparency Report. It was deployed using Heroku and leveraged both Dash and Plotly.js. A coworker and I submitted the project to an internal company competition and in addition to achieving beneficial exposure to new tools, we were awarded first place!
